And today the former football star has updated us to let us know he's been enjoying some of the local delicacies in Beijing.
The 38-year-old sport star has been in China for a number of projects, and has most recently enjoyed dumplings and signed autographs for fans.

'I had a great meal at a local Beijing restaurant called Boayuan Dumplings,' David said on his Facebook page, sharing a snap with the caption.
In the photograph, Mr Beckham can be seen being flanked on all sides by a gaggle of thrilled staff members in the eatery.

David wears a spotless white long-sleeved T-shirt in the photo, clearly taking care not to drop any dim sum on his whites.
Curiously he seems to be the only one aware of the camera as everyone else in the photograph has had their attention caught by something else.
Injuries and tears were both experienced in the mad rush to catch a sighting of David Beckham
However everyone involved in the scene looks genuinely delighted to be there.
In a later update, David revealed he was 'Signing Adidas balls for fans' - and sure enough, he was scrawling his autograph on a number of semi-inflated balls for fans, as captured in an accompanying photograph.
The football legend has been on a jolly in the Chinese nation, having also attended a children's hospital, and shared photos of himself and wife Victoria Beckham, in the process.
He has been keeping fans updated of his progress via the social network site, Facebook, however it would seem his Chinese adventure has come to an end.
'Bye China, I had an amazing trip! I will see you soon,' his most recent status reads - but without a photograph to accompany.

As the face of H&M underwear, David also made time to greet fans at an event while in Beijing earlier in the week.
