Ke$ha heeds young fans (VIDEO)

DIE Young has proven to be another hit for American singer-songwriter and rapper Ke$ha.

The tune, taken from her latest album, Warrior, is Ke$ha’s eighth top 10 hit after her debut album, Animal.

But despite its success, Die Young stopped airing on radio in the wake of the tragic Newtown shooting recently.
The song is said to have a misleading message about premature death, causing controversial online message “Not Your Fault Ke$ha” to trend on Twitter.

Ke$ha said: “I did have some concerns about the phrase ‘die young’ in the chorus when we were writing the lyrics as so many of my fans are young and that’s one reason why I wrote so many versions of this song.

“But the song is about the importance of living every day to the fullest and staying young at heart, and these are things I truly believe.”

Despite the controversy, Die Young marked another success for the singer when it debuted at No. 21 on the Billboard Pop Songs Chart, making it Ke$sha’s highest ranking debut on the chart.

The song also entered the Hot 100 at No. 13, and debuted at No. 3 on the Hot Digital Songs chart with 188,000 purchases.
