Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, paid a visit to her old prep school, St. Andrew’s in Berkshire, on Friday. The private boarding and prep school has an annual St. Andrew’s Day festival and play day, and they invited Duchess Catherine to participate. And, reports Daily Mail, the duchess joined in a game of field hockey – in a full skirt and high-heeled boots.
Kate Middleton attended the school from 1986 to 1995, and she won several awards. In fact, she was something of a star pupil, but she was especially good at sports. The last time she had a chance to play hockey, Duchess Catherine was wearing tangerine skinny jeans and sharing the field with male pros, but this time she risked a dark navy plaid Alexander McQueen suit-dress and a pair of black, knee-high boots.
As a speculative side note, Kate Middleton might have been risking more than just expensive boots. Would a pregnant princess-to-be really let herself be lured out onto the pitch, with hockey pucks flying around? It’s doubtful, and the fact that she did calls the recent pregnancy rumors into question.
In her short speech, Kate Middleton said: “It is such a treat to be back here at St Andrew’s. I absolutely loved my time here; they were some of my happiest years … In fact, I enjoyed it so much that when I had to leave, I told my mother that I was going to come back to be a teacher. While that didn’t quite happen, I was thrilled to have been asked back today on St. Andrew's Day.”
