Kate Middleton visits Assyakirin Mosque in Malaysia

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid their first ever visit to a mosque today on the latest stage of their tour of South-East Asia. As the royal couple stepped out of their official car at the Assyakirin Mosque in Kuala Lumpur - the biggest in Malaysia - Kate was asked to take off her LK Bennett heels and wear a headscarf according to Islamic religious law. They were educated about the process of preparing for prayer and learned about the role of the mosque in the local community before attending a performance of local culture in a nearby park.
