William and Kate were to be treated to performances in honor of British athletes by Take That singer Gary Barlow, artist Will Young and singer Alfie Boe.

The is called Our Greatest Team Rises and the royals attendance fits in with their role as ambassadors for Team GB and Paralympics GB. Prince Harry has joined the couple as a cheerleader for the games in the UK.

All will be on hand to welcome the Olympic Torch relay to Buckingham Palace on July 26 and witness three torchbearers carrying the flame through the palace grounds just a day before the Games’ opening ceremony.
