Nicki Minaj Debuts New Single, Responds To Grammy Controversy

Nicki Minaj has offered up another track from her forthcoming sophomore album. The disc, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, drops on April 3, but you don’t have to wait that long check out some new material.
Minaj debuted “Starships” on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning. The track, produced by RedOne (known for all his work with Lady Gaga), is pretty pop-heavy, less of a hip-hop single than Minaj’s previous numbers. It’s pretty catchy, but we miss Minaj’s fast-talking rhymes being the basis of her songs. And, to be honest, it sounds like something Gaga passed up.
Minaj told Seacrest, “I know people are gonna love it. It feels right. It just feels good. It makes people feel happy and that’s all I want. I want tho start the year off with making people feel good.”
Listen below and let us know what you think of the new single in the comments.
