United Kingdom- Year 15 schoolgirl Lily Webster from Stowmarket, described as 'popular, active and bright', has died after collapsing midway through a trampoline lesson at a leisure centre.

The 15-year-old was attending a PE lesson at Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre, which is next door to her school, Stowmarket High School, when she collapsed unexpectedly.

Ambulance services confirmed they were called at 2.30pm on Monday but paramedics were unable to revive her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lily was described by head teacher Keith Penn as 'popular, active, bright and with a very wide circle of friends' and said she would be 'desperately missed by students and staff and all those who knew her'.

'The whole Stowmarket High School community are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic and sudden death,' Mr Penn said.

'All our thoughts and prayers are with her family and close friends.'

A Facebook page has been set up for Lily, encouraging friends to leave messages of condolence for her.

In the introductory lines, it reads: 'A young girl who was so unfortunate to lose her life. She was so beautiful, and had the loveliest smile ever, she never said a bad word about anyone, and never seemed to be down.'
