Dutch Mega DJ Afrojack Dating…Paris Hilton?

I’ve spent a long time refusing to believe this is real, but it really is starting to look like Dutch DJ Afrojack is dating America’s favorite snobby, entitled, famous-for-no-good-reason heiress, Paris Hilton. The two have been spending quite a bit of time together, and rumor has it that Afrojack is leaving his pregnant girlfriend to pursue a relationship with the ditzy ‘celebrity’.
The two have been spotted canoodling all across the globe from Ibiza, to Hawaii, to Slovenia. This development follows an announcement from Hilton this summer in which she claimed that she is pursuing the title of “The Queen of House Music”. Here is an excerpt from a TMZ article from September on the subject.

“We’re told Hilton has become pretty tight with HUGE names like Afrojack and Deadmau5 — and even plans to appear on stage with Deadmau5 in the near future.

One source extremely close to the heiress tells us, Hilton’s been told by the best in the biz she could become the “Queen of house music” — because “no woman has ever taken over in that arena … and she wants to become that person.

We’re told Paris is researching right now in Ibiza (aka House Music Island) with David Guetta … and is pushing to release the album before the end of the year.”

As a female DJ and producer who has worked hard to validate the role of female artists in the dance music industry, I find these claims to be not only preposterous, but also offensive. Learning to produce house music is a difficult and time consuming process, and to insinuate that someone with no musical experience (no, Paris, your so-called “singing” does not count) could produce an entire house music album in three months, EVEN with the aid of David Guetta, is an absolute outrage, and it completely undermines the credibility of females in the EDM industry. Fortunately, it doesn’t look like this will be happening, as 2011 is drawing to a close and I have heard no word about the album.

It was during this Ibiza vacation that Paris started to grow very close to DJ Afrojack. I can’t help but believe that this is just another desperate attempt for the irrelevant heiress to try to stay in the spotlight, and that once she gets what she wants out of her relationship with Afrojack, she will be on to the next one.

In positive news, Afrojack released a new CD, titled “Lost and Found Part 2″ on Monday, a follow up to his famous “Lost and Found” album, released exactly one year ago from Monday.
